A new project

What a petty to say but our voluntarily project "Kopfüber in die Musik" is canceled now. We didn’t get enough money to finance the event. Maybe it was a little bit too big for us as a voluntarily project with all these workshops and presentations. But of course the good thing is that we learned a lot in organizing and managing things through it.

The good news I have is that there already a new project is planned: I will represent ARS BALTICA at the event "Langer Tag der Kultur" (engl.: Long day of culture) by presenting an exhibition of the ARS BALTICA accredited Baltic Comic workshop. The event will take place in Rendsburg (Germany).

The whole afternoon on 1 June you can see Baltic, Scandinavian, Slavic, German and Dutch comics and works in different layouts. Here you can read more about the exhibition, BalticComic and the event "Langer Tag der Kultur".

Hope to see you there, until then

Beautiful Nordkolleg

Hello there, at the moment there is not much new to tell or to write about, but finally the weather became much better so I want to show you the beauty of the Nordkolleg, especially of the garden in spring.

Enjoy what you see!

A trip to Berlin

Last week, from 17 to 19 April, together with my ARS BALTICA colleagues I went to Berlin for the Kick-Off event for the new Priority Area Culture in the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. It was a great experience: the travel by train, sleeping in a hotel, giving name badges to participants of the event and over all taking pictures.

The event was a great success. There were made lots of good plans to support the diversity and the attractiveness of culture and the cultural heritage. To get an impression of the event here you can see a series of pictures I took.

Kick-off in Berlin

Next week, the trip to Berlin starts. I already told you something about it. The main theme will be the Kick-off of the new Priority Area Culture in the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Planned activities in the Priority Area Culture will be communicated and discussed. Also ONE BSR will be there to conduct the second policy round table; but read more about all of it on the ARS BALTICA website.

A little advertising: from 17 to 21 April 2013 the folkBALTICA festival will present folk music from the whole Baltic Sea Region, check it out!

Here in office everything proceeds in the usual way. The planning of our voluntary-project "Kopfüber in die Musik" goes on; today we finished the correspondence for the donors which will be sent out still today. Next week the whole team will meet together for dispersing new tasks for everyone and to plan an advertising spot for the radio and the TV.

At the end a little insight how I create my blog entries:

SNOW!

In the middle of March I am looking up to the sky and… SNOW! It is unbelievable! Just when you thought the winter is over, spring will come now… SNOW! Again and again, one or two days full of heavy snow falling, two weeks of cold and wind, a little bit of melting and then… SNOW!

I’m really not religious but:

Petrus, you are annoying me extremely!

In the office everything is running normally: Website-texts, Facebook-news and at the moment we are searching for financiers for our voluntary project.

Anyway there is something special: from 17 to 19 April there will be a meeting in Berlin where inter alia the ARS BALTICA organizing committee will meet together. I will participate in this meeting with the task to present possible projects for the ARS BALTICA accreditation. Therefor I will search for projects in the Baltic Sea Region, e.g. a music festival, check if it meets the demands of getting the ARS BALTICA Logo and then put these projects together in a PowerPoint presentation. After my presentation the committee will discuss for which projects the logo will be offered.

For this meeting I also checked the railroad connection and searched for hotels around the meeting place (Landesvertretung Schleswig-Holstein).

But also this week there will be something special: today, the artists and translators for the ARS BALTICA accredited project Baltic Comic will arrive at Nordkolleg (if the weather will let them). Tomorrow the workshops will start and run until Thursday. Friday and Saturday the results will be presented in Kiel. Check it out!

So that’s enough at the moment, further information about Berlin you’ll get soon.

Keep your fingers crossed for better weather in North Germany, it sucks.

Best regards
